I hope they release this on BLACK VINYL, sick of color on vinyl, noise noise noise!

The audio fidelity on this is very good, but this pressing is absolutely riddled with surface noise - typical of a multi-color variant like this I suppose. The noise does decline a bit as the needle moves towards the inner grooves but even after a thorough cleaning it's difficult to enjoy the music with all the clicks/pops - I'd personally rather listen to the original CD. Otherwise, it's a beautiful reissue aesthetically with an awesome candy corn decorated inner jacket pocket and double-sided insert. The LP itself is flat and centered properly, it's too bad there is so much distracting surface noise on the record itself. However, it still makes for a great collectible piece for Sponge fans or classic 90's rock/alt fans in general.

I agree to the complaint about the quiet sound. Ii's obvious when you compare it to other recordings of the same style/time. My copy also has some dissapointing pops and crackling sounds.

Finally got to play my Candy Corn version and i was really gutted. It's so quiet and flat. I put on my CD I have from when it first came out to compare, sounds indescribably better. Like no comparison. Presentation is great but sounds awful for the crazy retail price. I guess it was a long-awaited reissue so they could do and charge what they want.

What turntable, cartridge and stereo setup (amp/receiver, speakers) are you using? I have this version and the original CD as well, and the new vinyl pressing blows my original CD out of the water. No comparison.

Looks good, sounds good (compared to the cd...this will never be confused for an audiophile title). My candy corn vinyl was near whisper quiet. Bring on more Sponge!

Yes!! Time for Wax Ecstatic reissue next, which IMHO, is a better all round record than Rotting Piñata.
